Clifford Babson | CEM, CMVP, CEA, BESA, LEED AP BD+C, BPI-MFBA, Senior Project Manager, Technical Team Leader
Clifford is a retired Ship’s Captain with over 25 years of facility and energy engineering experience. He has managed or assessed an extensive variety of facility types, including multifamily, commercial, high-rise, and industrial. He has a strong background in energy auditing, assessment, and modeling. He holds an array of energy industry certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers, the Building Performance Institute, and many others. He has been approved by the state of New York to sit for the Professional Engineers Exam and is also a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state. Clifford is active in professional societies, such as ASHRAE, AEE, BPI, and RESNET, and has been a member of several technical committees, including the BPI Multifamily BA Standards Committee, NREL’s Multifamily Job Task Analysis Committee, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s Emerging Technologies Committee, and the Air Barrier Association’s Technical Committee. He is an accomplished professional trainer and teaches courses in energy auditing and efficient building operations. Clifford developed several curricula to support students seeking industry certification from BPI, AEE, and BOC. He has also taught physics at Ithaca College.
Charles has joined the Strategic Energy Group (SEG) as a Senior Project Manager working out of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a BPI-certified Multifamily Building Analyst with four years of experience in building energy-efficiency consulting, which includes three years of experience conducting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac energy assessments. He also has five years of experience conducting property condition assessments (PCAs) for a variety of facility types, including multifamily, assisted living, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, and industrial. He has been approved by the state of Texas to sit for the Architectural Registration Exam and has over ten years of experience in the architecture and construction fields. Charles went to the University of Texas at Arlington and obtained a Master of Architecture, Master Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Development, and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. He also has a professional background in architectural photography and has taught interior design at Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!).
Patricia has over 25 years’ experience in operations, human resources management, and organizational development. Leveraging her external experiences, Patricia works with other members of Nova leadership to positively impact the organization’s culture, climate, change management, and systems and tools. Her ultimate goal is to help Nova create an environment where its employees feel they are “best in class,” to help build and retain a superior workforce, and to improve efficiency as Nova continues to grow into the future. Patricia’s previous business experience includes operational and HR roles in the retail marketing industry and global engineering and design/construction management consulting industry, where Patricia held both domestic and international responsibilities.
Lauren has joined the Nova team as an Accounting Clerk, working out of Chaska, Minnesota. She is new to the accounting industry, as a recent graduate from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with a bachelor’s degree in social work and minor in economics.
Larry A. Lee | LEED AP BD+C, Senior Project Manager, Building Enclosure Consultant
Larry is a Senior Project Manager focusing on building sciences practice as part of Nova’s Equity Group. He is a LEED Accredited Professional for Building, Design, and Construction. Larry has over 30 years of professional experience in commercial construction and the building science construction industry. He has worked in practically every facet of the construction process, from material manufacturing to construction management, with experience as a glazing subcontractor, a regional director of quality for a national general contractor, a construction manager for engineering firms and owners, and a building enclosure consultant for both new construction and forensic projects. Larry has worked on projects across the United States, including a hydroelectric power plant, hospitals, medical office buildings, cancer research and treatment centers, K-12 and higher education facilities, churches, high-rise offices, multifamily residences, and in aviation. Larry is based out of the Atlanta, Georgia, area.
Lindsey has joined the Industrial Hygiene Group as an Industrial Hygiene Project Manager working out of the Kansas City, Missouri, office. She has over two years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, working in health, safety, and environmental (HSE). Additionally, she has seven years of experience in the fire industry. Lindsey went to the University of Central Missouri and obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety Management.
Ryan has joined Nova as Information Technology Manager working out of Chaska, Minnesota. He has over five years of experience in project management and software engineering, working with businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to start-ups. Ryan went to Saint John’s University and received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Computer Science and Business Management. He will focus on enhancing technical operations within Nova as the company continues to grow.
